DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – The 13th annual Sanur Village Festival (SVF 2018) is set to be held on 22- 26 August 2018. SVF 2018 is themed “Mandala Giri”, which literally means circle and mountain. For the Balinese, the mountain represents the head, orienting to the spirit and culture.
The 5-days festival aims to facilitate and develop the Sanur community’s creativity and achieve creativity and tourism synergy.
This year’s festival refocuses on Mount Agung, where its eruption back in November 2017 created a reflection of humanity and closeness to nature, which must be embraced and become a part of Sanur community’s spirit of creativity.
Sensitivity towards Mount Agung’s existence and condition should encourage togetherness and familiarity, respect and protection of the environment, inspiring the community, and reconfirming that Bali remains safe to be visited as one of the best world destination.
At SVF 2018, visitors can look forward to the fun and cultural programs held during the festival. A culinary experience, from cuisine at warung to restaurant at five star resorts in the food bazaar, all at very moderate prices.
Enjoying the night festival with traditional cultural performances, from Bali and Indonesia, collaborating with modern music genre, while colossal performances are based on the theme of SVF 2018.
Art performances open to public such as body painting, on the spot painting, art exhibition and photography, ice carving, and fruit carving, all presented in a festive ambiance.
Various competitions and fun sports, like marathon, triathlon, futsal, tennis, golf, surfing, wind surfing, fishing competition, traditional boat parade and other water sports becomes a spectacular added value.
There will be also the world kite festival, displaying Balinese traditional and contemporary kites from international participants.
Last but not least, Green and Environmental activity, among them coral plantation, turtle release, beach clean up, planting mangrove, planting rare trees, environment education and green campaign.
