CANGGU, Bali (BPN) – Plataran Canggu hosted a number of events under the theme “Karya Untuk Bangsa” (works for the nation) to commemorate the 14th anniversary of Plataran Indonesia. The 14 workshops from 14 organizations, which will be hosted across Indonesia focusing on three cities of Jakarta, Magelang, and Bali, are one of the series’ events.
English4Trash Workshop was held at Plataran Canggu Bali Resort & Spa on 20 January 2023, flanked by tropical gardens, along the river, and lush green rice fields.
Plataran invited 25 children from Plataran Canggu’s elementary schools in grade 5 to participate in the workshop along with Bye Bye Plastic Bags, the Bali-based initiative that became a youth-driven phenomenon to end the use of plastic bags in Bali and other places.
This program started with a cleanup of the area around the event venue, went on to teach kids how to sort trash, and ended with an enjoyable English lesson.
“Plataran is working to support the Bye Bye Plastic Bags program to invite young people to envision a world free of plastic bags. This event is a form of Plataran’s concern and support for nature, in line with Plataran Indonesia’s pillars, namely Nature, Culture, and Community,” said Kay Tadjoedin, Corporate Director of Marketing at Plataran Indonesia.
