MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – On 14 January 2025, Australia’s Consul-General in Bali, Jo Stevens, joined the Rector of Udayana, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D, opened the renewed #AussieBanget Corner at Udayana University.
The refreshed #AussieBanget Corner, located in the central library of Udayana University’s Jimbaran campus, will be a permanent space for students to explore Australian books and resources, and access information on studying in Australia and Australia Awards scholarship programs.
It will also serve as a gathering place for Australian-related activities on campus. The corner is one of several #AussieBanget Corners across Indonesia.
“We’re so pleased to collaborate with Udayana University on this AussieBanget Corner, which I hope will be a useful and informative place for students to learn more about Australia,” Consul-General Stevens said.
Australia has the longest-running foreign scholarships program in Indonesia, which has supported tens of thousands of Indonesians to study in Australia.
The prestigious Australia Awards Indonesia program offers a range of scholarships, including for PhDs, Masters, split-site Masters, and short courses.
“Australia and Indonesia’s people-to-people connections are the foundation on which we work together, to support the stability, security and prosperity of our shared region,” Consul-General Stevens added.
Rector Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana said in his remarks, “The #AussieBanget Corner is not just a physical space, but a symbol of the strong ties between Indonesia and Australia. We are excited about the future opportunities that this space will offer in strengthening the
relationship between our two nations.”
