DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) — The acclaimed Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival (SUVJF) returns on 7–8 August 2026 at Sthala Ubud Bali, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, presenting world-class jazz performances in one of Bali’s most inspiring cultural destinations.
Founded in 2013, Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival is an annual international jazz festival in Bali that celebrates musical excellence, cultural diversity, and artistic collaboration.
Through performances, educational initiatives, and community engagement, Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival, a community-based festival, continues to foster meaningful connections between Indonesian and international jazz communities.
Now entering its 13th edition, Sthala Ubud Village Jazz Festival continues to strengthen its reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s most respected boutique jazz festivals, bringing together internationally renowned artists, emerging talents, and passionate music lovers from around the world.
Set amid the natural beauty of Ubud, the festival offers an intimate atmosphere where audiences can experience exceptional music, meaningful cultural exchange, and unforgettable artistic collaborations.
This year’s program features a diverse lineup representing contemporary jazz, straight-ahead jazz, big band traditions, world music influences, and innovative cross-cultural collaborations.
The 2026 lineup brings together artists from across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Italian drummer and composer Simone Prattico, returning to the SUVJF stage for his second performance, noted that the festival’s artistic environment remains a rare find on the international circuit.
“I really felt the atmosphere of this festival. Bali and Indonesia have so many extraordinary musical talents. That is the reason why I really wanted to come back here,” he said.
This year’s festival layout introduces the “Island Life” spatial concept, guiding attendees through a natural physical progression from the elevated “Mountain Zone,” down to the central “Collaboration Stage,” and ending at the riverfront “Subak Stage.”
“The spatial narrative we built this year is a journey from the mountain to the sea. Visitors will experience environmental issues through an artistic approach,” said Diana Surya, UVJF Committee Member.
The event continues to draw international visitors to Ubud, providing a boost to local hospitality partners.
Lasta Arimbawa, General Manager of Sthala Ubud Bali, said that the hotel reported full occupancy during the event dates.
“This festival is not merely a music performance, but a meeting space for jazz lovers from all corners of the world. Hospitality is about building collaboration with the local community, celebrates diversity, and and supporting creative initiatives around us,” said Lasta Arimbawa, General Manager of Sthala Ubud Bali.
Anom Darsana, SUVJF Co-Founder, revealed that operating as an independent festival without diluting its genre remains an ongoing financial challenge for the organizers.
Despite commercial pressures facing modern music gatherings, the festival leadership remains committed to its core focus.
“This year has been one of the toughest years for us financially. If this festival still stands today, it is because so many people—sponsors, media, musicians, and communities—believe in it,” said Anom Darsana.
Anom Darsana reaffirmed that SUVJF will remain an intimate, high-quality event dedicated to genuine cultural expression.
