Hard Rock Hotel Bali celebrates the 51st Founders Day.

KUTA, Bali (BPN) – Hard Rock Hotel Bali celebrated 51st Founder’s Day by preserving nature; two events were held to mark the occasion.

“Founders Day is a yearly celebration marking the opening of the first Hard Rock Cafe five decades ago, we took this opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of the local hero at Kuta Environmental and Cleanliness Service to keep the beach clean. The band members devote their time to help to improve our environment, and live up to one of the brand’s mottos – SAVE THE PLANET,” said Shane Coates, the General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Bali.

Together with 55 field workers from Kuta Environmental and Cleanliness Service (DLHK), 25 band members from Hard Rock Hotel Bali spent the morning on 14 June cleaning up Kuta Beach.

Following the cleanup, the group had breakfast on the beach provided by the Hotel. It was a gesture from the hotel management to thank the team of hard-working field workers who have demonstrated dedication and resilience in maintaining the cleanliness of Kuta Beach for years, even under the impact of COVID-19.

The second event was Mangrove Planting on 16 June. About 25 band members from Hard Rock Hotel Bali participated in this activity, they came to learn about mangroves and their pivotal role in preserving the eco-systems from Wanasari Fishermen Group. 75 seedlings of Rhizophora were planted in Wanasari Mangrove Forest.

Rhizophora type is also known as red mangrove; an easy-living mangrove species, it covers a wide range of habitats with an almost 50% of survival rate within one year period after planting.

Mangroves have long been known for their extraordinary ability in storing organic carbon more than most other trees, this makes mangroves one of the valuable assets in the fight against global warming; mangroves can also reduce shoreline erosion, thus protecting coastal communities against flooding and tsunamis.
