UBUD, Bali (BPN) – If you are currently visiting Ubud and looking for a place to eat that has a unique, delicious menu and with a typical view of Ubud, you can try coming to Manisan Bali. In this restaurant, you can try the best-selling signature menu called Nasi Bira, and its delicacy is guaranteed to have visitors coming back for more.
Nasi Bira consists of yellow rice infused with kemangi (basil) leaves accompanied by dry salted fish, cucumber and eggplant. It is served with seven side dishes namely tasting portions of spicy honey grilled prawns, seared tuna fish sambal matah (Balinese chili condiment), chicken betutu (Balinese-style roasted or steamed chicken), minced chicken satay lilit, rice field escargot, vegetable urap and snake beans with two kinds of sambals and crackers.
“This menu is inspired by the typical yellow rice from Balinese Hindu offering during the Saraswati Holy Day ceremony, the day when Balinese praise and thank the goddess of knowledge for bestowing the ability to read, write and understand nature upon humans. We present it in a new way and of course without MSG,” Chef Ida Bagus Raka Subawa explained on Wednesday.
The Nasi Bira is served for two person on a large traditional Balinese platter. In terms of taste, it is very interesting with a typical Balinese seasonings. Don’t worry if you are not a fan of food with strong and spicy seasoning, because you can ask the chef to adjust to your taste, and you can still enjoy the delicacy of Balinese food.
Another dishes you can try are the duck menus such as Bebek Cemcem or Bebek Manisan. Both of these duck menus are the signature of Manisan Bali so you won’t find the same taste and uniqueness anywhere else.
