DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Kerobokan Prison, Bali, to hold a festival which involve its prisoners and aimed to make prisoners to be active and able to show their creativity, even though they are still behind the bars. Tony Nainggolan, Head of Kerobokan Prison, in collaboration with Antida Music Productions to hold the event titled Bali Prison Music Festival 2018, on November 24, 2018 starting at 10 AM.

“Hopefully this event can be held annually and grow with art as its root, so that the talents in each prison can be recognized and able to go into the professional,” Tony Nainggolan said on Monday.

About thirteen bands have registered to follow the band competition at this event, which come from various prisons in Bali.

“Currently, the program in Bali Prison Music Festival 2018 is only band competition. But in the future it will become even bigger, with more programs, becoming the real festival. Those are our goals and reasons for the naming of the Bali Prison Music Festival,” said Anom Darsana.

Meanwhile one of the judges Anom Darsana said that this event is more than just a festival but it also a mission towards humanity.

“Bali Prison Music Festival is interesting not only because it is held in prison, but it is a humanitarian mission that provides opportunities for the inmates to continue to show their interests and talents and prove that they also remain the same as us, needing recreation to encourage their souls which temporarily “shackled” behind the walls of the prison,” said Made Adnyana.
