Bali Police Call Founder of Malaysia’s Ri-Yaz Group to Turn Himself In

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – The Bali Police are calling on Wanted Malaysian, Mohammed Shaheen Shah Bin Mohd Sidek alias Datuk Seri Mohd Shaheen, 48, the Founder of Ri-Yaz Group Malaysia, to turn himself in.

Mohammed Shaheen Shah Bin Mohd Sidek allegedly ran away with PT Golden Dewata’s money amounting to over IDR 89 billion, and he also failed to pay taxes of up to IDR 15 billion, when he was the Director of the company.

The call is also made to an Englishman, CEO of Ri-Yaz Development Kieran Chris Healey, 56. Both are allegedly violating articles 374, 378, and 372 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) on embezzlement.

“Bali Police call, asking the suspects to surrender,” said the Head of Sub Directorate III of the Bali Police Directorate of Criminal Investigation AKBP Endang Tri Purwanto on Friday (12/9/2022).

This tax fraud case was revealed after the Investigation Directorate of Bali Police conducted a series of investigations and issued a Most Wanted List (DPO) on November 22, 2022.

The alleged offense was carried out by manipulating profits, which affects the taxes that must be paid to the state.

Andi, who reported the complaint, said that in addition to IDR 15 billion and IDR 89 billion, Ri-Yaz Company as Hotel Management is also still in arrears of income tax of IDR 1.8 billion.

Then there is PB 1 Tax (Development tax 1) amounting to IDR 2 billion that has not been paid. Also, the debts to suppliers, and vegetable vendors, bring the total debt to IDR 2.5 billion.

“The Ri-Yaz company allegedly did not have a business permit when operating in Bali,” said Andi.

The Bali Police continue to locate the whereabouts of the two foreigners who are allegedly abroad and already included in the Red Notice, by sending letters to several parties including the Malaysian Embassy in South Jakarta, and to the Royal Malaysian Police.

Previously, the Bali Police issued a Most Wanted List on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, after a series of investigations were carried out according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Red Notice status is that the boss and CEO of the Ri-Yaz Group are to be monitored, questioned, or submitted to Bali Police investigators.
