DENPASAR, BALI (BPN) – The Hilton Hotels in Indonesia and Scholars of Sustenance Indonesia (SOS) celebrated World Food Day 2022 through activities to give back to the community by distributing nutritious food on Friday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 19, in celebration of World Food Day.
The theme for this year is “Leave No One Behind,” which serves as a gentle reminder that nobody should be left behind and that we must work to create a sustainable future in which everyone, everywhere has regular access to sufficient nutritious food.
On Friday, October 14, staff from the Hilton Bali Resort, Conrad Bali, and Jumana Bali Ungasan Resort cook 227 nutritious food at the Scholars of Sustenance Indonesia (SOS) office in Sanur.
Kevin Girard, General Manager of Conrad Bali, joined the staff in the kitchen and encouraged the participating hotels to support the great work that SOS has been carrying out. The SOS team and hotel staff then distributed the nutritious food to low-income families in Kertalangu, Denpasar.
While on Wednesday, 19th October Hilton Regional Finance team with a total of 27 people gather at the SOS office including staff from Hilton India, Japan, Singapore, Australia, and Jakarta to cook nutritious meals.
In addition, the SOS team and Hilton finance staff discussed the food waste problem and how to manage food waste in a small workshop held together with the cooking activity.
Most of the participants regarded the activity as a great team bonding exercise while giving back to the community.

“I like it! It is always good to have a charity event and I love when I have to fry the tempeh, it was fun!” said Tristan Teng from Singapore Hilton Regional office.
While The Regional Finance Director of Asia Pacific stated “This was my second time participating, and I had a great time. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the community”.
400 cooked meals in total were distributed to Suwung Landfill and the families in Pagutan, Padangsambian Kaja Village, an area impacted by flooding from Bali’s recent intense rainfall.
