Bali Coronavirus Update May 27: Eight New Cases and Seven Recoveries

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 Task Force Dewa Made Indra announced eight new confirmed cases as of Wednesday, May 27, bringing the total number to 415.

“There are eight new cases today. Four are from Indonesia Migrant Workers (PMI), three imported cases (from other regions in Indonesia), and one local transmission,” Dewa Indra said in his official statement in Denpasar, Wednesday.

Dewa Indra also announced seven recoveries, consisted of two PMIs and five local transmissions, bringing the total number to 302.

“The number of patients under treatment amounting to 109. They are being treated at seven hospitals and quarantine sites in Bali,” he explained.

Nationally, the government of Indonesia recorded 686 new confirmed cases, bringing the total COVID-19 cases in the archipelago to 23,851.

The government’s spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto also announced 180 recoveries, which makes the total number to 6,057.

As for the death toll, Yuri explained there are 55 new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total fatalities to 1,473.
