Bali Records Seven COVID-19 New Cases and One Dies, April 18

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Deputy Chairman of the Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force Dewa Made Indra announced seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19, five of whom were Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) and two cases of local transmission. Bringing the total confirmed cases on the island to 131.

The task force also recorded one patient died as of Saturday, April 18, bringing the total number of the death toll to three; two foreign nationals and one Indonesian.

“The patient who died was an Indonesian citizen, male, 51 years old and was already buried within the COVID-19 protocol,” Dewa Indra said in a press statement in Denpasar on Saturday.

Dewa Indra added that the patient had previously undergone treatment at one of the referral hospitals for COVID-19.

“According to the doctor, the patient who died also had diabetes. This means that his death was not solely due to COVID-19,” he said.

Nationally, the Government of Indonesia recorded patients recovering from COVID-19 continued to increase to 631, after the addition of 24 people, as of Saturday, April 18.

While the confirmed cases increased by 325, bringing the total to 6,248. And the death toll increased by 15 bringing the total fatalities from COVID-19 to 535.
