Bali & Indonesia COVID-19 Update, April 16: More Patients Recover from Coronavirus

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Daily Chairman of Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force Dewa Made Indra announced the addition of nine patients who have recovered, consisting of seven migrant workers (PMI), and two patients infected from other regions in Indonesia, bringing the total number of recovered to 32, as of Thursday, April 16.

Unfortunately, Bali also noted the highest addition of new confirmed cases by 15, bringing the total confirmed cases to 113, consisting of seven foreigners and 106 Indonesians.

“Of these 15 new cases, nine of them are PMI, three from local transmissions, and the other three are still being investigated,” Dewa Indra in Denpasar, on Thursday.

Dewa Indra explained, the investigation is done because those three patients have no history of traveling to other countries before, nor going to the affected regions in Indonesia, and also none of their family members tested positive for COVID-19.

While nationally, the number of COVID-19 patients who have recovered as of Thursday also increasing by 102, bringing the total number to 548.

That recovered patients’ number also exceeds the number of death tolls which have reached 496, after an increase of 27 people on Thursday.

While the number of new confirmed cases in all over Indonesia increased by 380 people, bringing the total number to 5,516.
