NUSA DUA, Bali (BPN) – One of the world’s biggest meetings in medical, the Asian Society of Vascular Surgery (ASVS), is held in Bali on 22 – 26 October 2019, themed Vascular Surgery as a Breakthrough. Around 1000 medical personnel of Vascular Surgery from all over the World take part at the 20th Congress of the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery 2019 (ASVS XX) held in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre.
“Indonesia has been a part of ASVS since 2004 and after bidding since 2015, finally we are appointed as the host for the 20th ASVS meeting. This program is also a good opportunity for Vascular Specialists to exchange knowledge in improving clinical diagnoses,” said dr. Dedy Pratama, SpB(K)V, the Indonesian counselor for ASVS.
The 2019 ASVS also takes place in conjunction with the 14th Asian Venous Forum, the 10th Indonesian Society of Vascular and Endovascular, and the 6th Indonesian Venous Forum.
The event presents seven workshops, 152 health topics, 78 international speakers, and 25 local speakers.
There are several big names in the vascular world who share their knowledge in this program, including Prof. Frans Moll (NED), Prof. Alun Davies (UK), Prof. Jean Francois Uhl (FRA), Prof. Fan Davidson (USA), Prof. Jason Lee (USA), Prof. Bijan Modarai (UK), Prof. Sergio Gianesini (ITA), Prof. Venu Bahmidi (AUS), Prof. Stephen Cheng (HK), Prof. Pramook Mutirangura (THA), Prof. Steven Kum (SIN), Prof. Peter Robless (SIN), Prof. NC Liew (MAS), Prof. Chang Shu (CHN), Prof. Shenming Wang (CHN), Prof. Tae Seung Lee (KOR), and Prof. Sang Su Lee (KOR).
“We hope the science shared through this scientific program can increase the knowledge of the participants so that it can be applied in their daily practices,” dr. Patrianef Darwis, SpB(K)V, President of ASVS 2019 added.
The 2019 Asian Society of Vascular Surgery is planned to be attended by the Minister of Health, who will also open and inaugurate the vascular industry exhibition. Besides, there is also a program that introduces the richness of Indonesian culture by presenting 100 artists performing the country’s arts, drama, dances, and colossal music.
Participants of ASVS also can find a culinary presentation from Indonesia that interestingly packaged at a gala dinner on 25 October, which will be opened by the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster.
