NUSA DUA, Bali (BPN) Soap is the primary daily need of the community to maintain the cleanliness. Pollution and germs are very easy to attack humans nowadays. In Bali, precisely the scavengers village at the Landfill of Suwung, Pesanggaran, South Denpasar, there are about 200 unfortunate families cannot buy soap.
Through “Soap For Hope” program, Melia Bali collaborates with the Diversey Organization donated unused soap to the Bali Life Foundation. The first program launched on February 2018 by donating over 3.4 kilograms of unused soap.
Within three months, the resort succeeds to collect over 52 kilograms of unused soap. Now, there is more than 100 kilograms ready to donate this November 2018.
General Manager Eduardo Perera Castro revealed that Melia Bali will continually support Suwung community to offer a new form of a better life and improve their hygiene practices by providing access to soap.
We are honored to be the first hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali to embark on this social sustainability journey. Moreover, this program is one of the real actions of Tri Hita Karana concept in Balinese philosophy, he said.
