SANUR, Bali (BPN) – Mangrove forests are critical for coastal protection, carbon sequestration, and providing habitats for numerous species. However, they face significant threats from waste accumulation, pollution, and climate change.
Recognizing the urgency of addressing these challenges, Maison Aurelia by Preference, Sanur, has undertaken a mangrove forest conservation initiative focused on cleaning the area of domestic waste and other pollutants that endanger this vital habitat.
“In celebration of World Oceans Day on June 8, 2024, it is essential for us to engage in activities that support environmental conservation,” said Pauline Mottoulle, General Manager of Maison Aurelia by Preference, Sanur.
The cleanup event, held at Mangrove Last Point in Denpasar, involved staff from Maison Aurelia by Preference, Sanur, alongside volunteers from various organizations. Together, they successfully collected over 20 sacks of rubbish from the area.
“This initiative represents a small yet meaningful expression of our commitment to protecting and restoring the mangrove ecosystem,” continued Pauline Mottoulle during the event. “It is crucial for maintaining biodiversity, mitigating climate change, and ultimately enhancing the quality of life for all.”
The event underscored the importance of individual and collective efforts in environmental restoration. People were encouraged to continue these efforts by responsibly disposing of waste and reducing the use of plastic products.
“Maison Aurelia by Preference, Sanur, remains dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and invites the community to join in ongoing conservation efforts. Together, we can make a significant impact on preserving our precious ecosystems,” Pauline Mottoulle concluded.
