BASCOMM Hosts Strategic “Pulse and Trendline” Workshop to Grow European Market Shares

KUTA, Bali (BPN) – With Europe solidifying its position as a premier feeder market for Indonesian tourism, the Bali Sales and Marketing Community (BASCOMM) hosted a landmark half-day workshop, “Europe Market: Pulse and Trendline” on Wednesday (January 21, 2026)

The event drew over 450 hospitality professionals, marking a significant milestone in the island’s collective effort to optimize international revenue streams.

As global travel patterns evolve, the workshop served as a critical platform for hospitality leaders, especially sales, marketing, and revenue professionals to align their strategies with the specific demands of European travellers. 

The sessions focused on three core pillars: visibility, distribution, and conversion.

The event featured a lineup of high-calibre speakers, providing a 360-degree view of the current travel landscape:

  • Erkan Tuncaakar (Product Manager Asia, DERTOUR Group): Representing Europe’s largest travel group, Tuncaakar provided an in-depth analysis of Europe markets. He highlighted the shift toward sustainable travel and the specific expectations of European travellers, who remain one of Bali’s most loyal and high-spending demographics.
  • Nicoline Dolman (Group Contracting Leader, Discova): As a leader at one of the world’s premier Destination Management Companies (DMCs), Dolman shared data-driven insights on capturing the European market, emphasizing how Bali properties can enhance their global footprint and adapt to the evolving booking behaviours of European travellers.
  • Muhamad Rifki (Senior Business Development Executive, Control Union Indonesia): Representing the event’s lead sponsor, Rifki discussed the growing importance of certification and sustainability standards in the hospitality sector—a key factor for European travellers when choosing accommodation.
