JAKARTA (BPN) – Tourism industry in Bali is targeting to grab tourists from nearby countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam on the new normal period when tourism in Bali is declared ready to reopen for the international market.
“For the early period, we will focus on the domestic market. However, when the international market has been opened, we expect tourists from nearby countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam,” said the Secretary of Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) for Bali, I Putu Winastra in the International Webinar Tourism in Indonesia for Thailand and Indochina market themed “Bali Alright”, Friday.
Putu Winastra explained that currently the industry and all stakeholders in the tourism and creative economy sector in Bali are preparing to face the new normal of tourism by implementing cleanliness, health, and safety protocols.
“These protocols will be implemented in every tourism sector such as transportations, accommodations, restaurants, and all tourism objects,” Putu Winastra said.
The protocols have been prepared based on customer journeys which focus on three main things, they are cleanliness, health, and safety.
Then, tourists have to prepare for various requirements that must be fulfilled before leaving for Bali such as COVID-19 free statement letter, itinerary, arrival date, and others as required by the government.
The protocols when tourists arrive at the airport, when doing tour activities, until returning to the airport for flights back to their home countries. All will be carried out according to good health protocol SOPs.
“And of course, Bali will not be opened in all areas. Nusa Dua area has been determined to be the pilot project,” he added.
While M. Yansverio as Regional CEO for Jakarta Raya Region PT. Garuda Indonesia said Bali is a superior destination for Garuda Indonesia both for domestic and international flights.
Garuda Indonesia is ready to support the industry and government in developing Bali tourism when it is decided to be opened by the government later.
“To welcome the new normal, Garuda Indonesia implements the Cleanliness, Health, and Safety (CHS) protocols and explains the requirements that must be fulfilled in traveling by airplane,” Yansverio said.
The Deputy of Marketing for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) Nia Niscaya explained that the Ministry has prepared a protocol standard as a guideline for all related tourism stakeholders in the CHS program.
“We hope the tourism industry players of Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam get the overview related to the implementation of new normal protocol, in this case, is CHS protocol in Indonesia, especially Bali. So that it can provide insight related to the making and selling of Indonesia tourism products in the future,” she said.
