Bali to Start Quarantine-Free Travel from March 7

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali Government decides to launch the quarantine-free policy for international travelers starting on March 7, 2022.  The policy is applied to international arrivals through air and sea travel.

The notice released on Friday also mentioned the implementation of Visa on Arrival applies to foreign nationals from 23 countries, namely Australia, The United States of America, The United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

While the requirements that must be met by foreign travelers to Bali are:

  1. Fully vaccinated or have received a booster 
  2. Negative PCR test result before departure
  3. Proof of fully paid hotel bookings for a minimum of four days in Bali
  4. Undergo PCR test upon arrival
  5. If the result is negative, travelers are permitted to visit tourist destinations in Bali,
  6. If the result is positive, travelers are required to isolate themselves at the appointed hotels and take another PCR test on the third day
  7. Negative PCR test results on the third day mean the travelers can continue their travels on the fourth day
  8. Elderly foreign travelers who are tested positive and have comorbidities will be treated at a hospital
  9. On the third day, travelers who are previously tested positive, are required to undergo another PCR test.
  10. Foreign travelers are required to have health insurance that covers COVID-19 treatment
  11. The revocation of the obligation to have sponsors/guarantors for e-Visa.

According to Bali Governor, Wayan Koster, the decision is taken after a discussion on March 4, 2022, held by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment and was attended by the Ministers of Health, Tourism and Creative Economy, Transportation, Law and Human Rights, Foreign Affairs, as well as Head of the COVID-19 Task Force, coordinator and members of the COVID-19 Task Force expert team, Bali’s Governor, Chief of Bali Regional Police, Commander of Regional Military Command, and Tourism Components.
