KUTA, Bali (BPN) – Bali is hosting the 2nd WOCPM International Congress themed New Frontiers in Preventive, Regenerative Medicine Nutrition & Stem Cells: The Future World Collaboration of Health Tourism.

The congress is being held over three days at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel in Kuta, involving thousands participants both online and offline from 74 countries.

Prof. Dr. Debby Susanti Pada Vinski, M.Sc., Ph.D., the President of the 2nd WOCPM International Congress 2024, stated that the congress offers a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing the exploration of the intersection between preventive medicine, regenerative therapies, nutrition, and stem cell applications.

“This congress offers a unique opportunity to engage in vital fields of preventive, regenerative, and anti-aging medicine, as well as stem cell research. With a focus on the latest developments in therapy, the congress will delve into the complex challenges and opportunities in this field,” she said.

The theme of this congress, she added, reflects a commitment to encourage collaboration, share knowledge, and advance healthcare practices worldwide.

“Over the next few days, participants will have the opportunity to interact with leading experts who will share their latest findings, insights, and experiences. Meanwhile, regarding the development of medical tourism, the Advisor to the President on National Health Affairs, Prof. Dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, said that Bali is expected to become a leading destination and serve as a role model for Indonesia.

Terawan emphasized that Bali, with its tourism infrastructures, is an ideal location to serve as a role model for the implementation of medical tourism.

“If Bali succeeds, we can develop it in other regions. Bali will be the role model, we cannot do everything at once, it needs to be a focused, step-by-step approach,” he explained.

Terawan also stressed the importance of collaboration, so as not to fall behind in terms of scientific knowledge, services, and regulations.

Furthermore, Terawan mentioned that Bali has great potential to develop medical tourism, including advancing stem cell therapy.

A number of world-class speakers with significant expertise in their fields will share insights during the three-day event, which is expected to be closed by former Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, on Sunday, November 10, 2024.
