MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali has received additional Taipei – Denpasar – Taipei flight routes, as well as adding Eva Air as the latest airline that flies to the Island of Gods.
On the inaugural flight from Taipei (Taiwan) to Denpasar, Eva Air with flight number BR-255 carried 212 passengers landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali at 03.29 PM local time, using Air Bus A330-302 registration B-16338, then returned to Taipei with the same plane at 05:22 PM with 91 passengers.
Upon arrival at Bali Airport, the Eva Air plane received a water salute and souvenirs for passengers, and the departed passengers got entertained with Balinese dances.
Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali, expressed his enthusiasm toward Eva Air’s inaugural flight.
“Today, we are serving Eva Air again with a special welcome, where previously Eva Air had operated (to Bali) before the Covid-19 pandemic, precisely in 2019,” he said.
“This is the second airline that serves direct flights to and from Taipei, of course, this can be one of the triggers for an increase in various route choices and airlines, especially on international flights which currently continue to show a significant increase, so that air transport traffic statistics also increasing in October 2022.”
Handy added that Eva Air will serve three flights a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, which means the airline flies regularly on the Taipei route.
“The Taipei route has previously been served by China Airlines, which according to its schedule flies every Tuesday and Friday,” said Handy, while adding that Eva Air will fly every day in November 2022.
Handy hopes that the growth of flight statistics can continue to increase in line with the post-pandemic recovery. In addition, in November 2022, there will be a series of events for the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali, thus helping to make it easier to find options of the route for delegates to and from Bali.
With the addition of Eva Air’s flight, Handy confirmed that currently, Bali Airport has served 25 airlines with 22 special international routes.
