DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – If you’re vacationing in Bali and looking for a unique and special culinary experience, the Balinese Cultural Night Dinner at Hotel Griya Santrian, Sanur, could be the perfect choice.

The “Bali Medulang” culinary concept is creatively and uniquely crafted by Chef Bayu, where rice and 12 side dishes are served on a Balinese carved dulang (large platter).

Bali Medulang consists of Nasi Kuning/Nasi Putih (Yellow/White Rice), chicken betutu, Lawar Ayam (vegetable salad with chicken), Sate Lilit Ayam (chicken skewers), Sate Tusuk Ayam (chicken satay), Udang Kemangi (prawn), Serombotan (vegetables with peanut sauce), Perkedel Kentang (fried potato patties), Pepes Ikan (steamed fish), Beef Rendang, Telur Balado (egg with balado sauce), fish meatballs, and peanut crackers.

The deliciousness of each dish in “Bali Medulang” can be enjoyed every Tuesday on the second and fourth week of each month, starting at 7 PM for IDR 250,000 per person.

Chef Bayu, the Executive Chef of Hotel Griya Santrian, explained that Bali Medulang was introduced in October 2024.

“Bali Medulang is the idea of Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, the owner of Hotel Griya Santrian, who wanted traditional Balinese cuisine to be enjoyed by guests staying at the hotel, of course with a unique presentation and packaging, using a dulang tray,” he said.

With its unique presentation and delicious flavors, it’s no surprise that this package has become a favorite, with 30-40 sets sold in one night.

International tourists are the highest consumers, as in addition to enjoying authentic Balinese cuisine, this dining experience is made even more fascinating with traditional Balinese dances.

Among the performances are Bali’s entertainment-purposed dances, such as Panyembrama, Baris, Oleg Tambulilingan, and Joged Bumbung, where at the end of the session, guests are invited to join in the dance.
