DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bebek Timbungan altered its name to Bali Timbungan. This follows the opening of a new restaurant in Sarinah, Jakarta, on March 29. The third branch in the heart of the country’s capital is a form of commitment to developing business outside of Bali.
Timbungan is a food culture from centuries ago in the era of Bali’s Kingdom. It was written in the ancient – lontar leaf manuscript “Dharma Caruban”, meaning the food cooked in bamboo for 12 hours on a small fire.
The method of a long cooking process with a mixed Balinese spice “Bumbu Genep” creates a slice of flavorful, tender meat, and serves for the royal delicacy or the solemn ceremony.
In recent years, Bali Timbungan committed to continuing to preserve Balinese tradition and serving these special cuisines to the public.
Anton Thedy, Chief Operating Officer of Secret Garden Village’s said, Bali Timbungan represents a tradition of Bali culinary experience in the society from centuries ago until today.
“We believe that we should preserve our culture, and our way is through the Balinese heritage cuisine,” he said.
The success of the Bali Timbungan restaurant on Sunset Road Kuta and at Secret Garden Bedugul, Bali, in accordance with all the efforts of innovation and providing the best service to the domestic or international community by maintaining traditional gustation.
Started in 2016 from the origin of the popular menu served at The Luwus Restaurant, Bali Timbungan food selection offers an array of meat from duck, chicken, and seafood.
For 3 consecutive years, Bebek Timbungan Heritage Cuisine Restaurant has won the Balinese Food Festival and won the title of Best of The Best Balinese Food Festival 2016 – 2018 which was held by the Tri Hita Karana Bali Foundation.
In addition, the restaurant won the 2018 Melapa-Melapi Awards in other categories, namely Best of Taste, Best of Serving, and Best of Presentation.
