DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, stated that since February 2020, had served repatriation flights of 3,408 travelers or foreign nationals in Bali to their respected countries.
According to General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Herry A.Y. Sikado, from February 8 to April 27, the airport has served as many as 22 repatriation flights carrying at least 3,408 foreigners from various countries.
“The first repatriation flight was from the Chinese Government for 61 Chinese to return to Wuhan on February 8. The last repatriation was for 242 foreigners to Samara City in Russia, on April 27,” Herry said.
Herry explained, as many as 14 international airlines had served the repatriation flights, namely China Eastern, LOT Polish Airlines, Avion Express, Condor Airlines, Qatar Airways, Air Europa, NEOS Airlines, Smartwings, Rossiya Airlines, Sunday Airlines, Air Yakutia, UTAir, Garuda Indonesia, and Air Cairo.
Herry further explained, based on the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. PM 25 of 2020, the exception of the flight prohibition is given to repatriation flight that carries out the repatriation of Indonesian citizens or foreign nationals.
This is one of the reasons that the airport continues to operate in this pandemic situation.
“We are continuously coordinating with various agencies related to the passengers handling, both Indonesian returning from abroad, or foreign nationals returning to their countries. The handling procedure has been adjusted to the applicable SOP,” Herry concluded.
