AMLAPURA, Bali (BPN) – The RPL D4 Tourism Students of the Politeknik Negeri Bali provided digital marketing training to the local communities of Sidemen, Karangsem regency, to increase tourist visits to the tourism village.
The activity that was held on Saturday, 13 May 2023, was part of a local community empowerment service assignment (KKN PPM) and a public service activity that reflects and implements the third point of the Tri Darma Perguruan Tinggi (three missions of universities), social responsibility to the local community.

The activity was to raise the number of tourist visits to the Sidemen through various creative and effective digital promotion efforts, to create a collaborative and educative tourism village.
The focuses of the program were creating several social media and e-commerce accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, Tokopedia, and Shopee for product exposure purposes, uploading potential promotion materials to several Instagram accounts in Bali, and providing training and several tips on how to effectively and efficiently operating those accounts.
Besides, the assignment aimed to support Sidemen Village in the Indonesia tourism village award (ADWI) in 2024, thus it will be a great opportunity for Sidemen Village to get more popular in Indonesia and worldwide.
The Sidemen tourism village is famous for its magnificent rice field views, “Kain Tenun Songket” (traditional handwoven fabric) of which visitors can directly see the process.

In addition, there is also Darmada Eco Resort as an accommodation provider that applies the green concept with a number of facilities such as restaurant, swimming pool, internet access, air-conditioned rooms, guest activities, and others.
The activity is expected to bring more exposure and attention, thus the number of tourist visits would gradually increase and will provide positive contributions to the economic growth of the local community of Sidemen village.
