BANGLI, Bali (BPN) – Amid efforts to strengthen the economic resilience of villages, the Agribusiness Study Program at Mahasaraswati University in Denpasar took a strategic step by holding branding and digital marketing training for local businesses in Bunutin Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency.
This activity is part of a flagship Community Service Program (PkM) that involves lecturers, students, and international collaborators from BASC-Philippines.
The training, led by Dr. Ida Ayu Made Dwi Susanti, S.P., M.Agb. with Dr.drh. Nyoman Yudiari, S.KH., M.Agb and Prof. Dr. Ir. I Made Tamba, MP, targeted two of the village’s leading products: Pepes Ikan (grilled spiced red snapper in Banana Leaf) and earthworm-based fish pellets.
Pepes Ikan was highlighted as a high-value local culinary product, while earthworm pellets were promoted as an environmentally friendly and high-protein alternative fish feed.
“The goal is to help the community build brand identity, improve packaging, and market products through digital media such as Instagram, TikTok, and marketplaces,” explained Dr. Dwi Susanti.
The results are not only more attractive products, but also a tangible increase in the knowledge and skills of the residents.
From the evaluation conducted, participants’ understanding of branding and digital marketing increased from 65% to 75%, while technical skills rose from 55% to 71.25%.
In addition to training, participants also received appropriate technology assistance in the form of packaging press tools, sticker designs, and intensive consultations on digital strategies.
The mentoring continued through to the stage of creating business accounts and promotion simulations, making this training more than just theory.
