DENPASAR (BPN) – PT Angkasa Pura I signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korean airline, Jeju Air, to strengthen the availability of airlines and connectivity of various tourist destinations such as Bali to be connected with the South Korean tourist market and open the potential connectivity for tourism in Batam.
The MoU was signed on Tuesday, 31 January 2023, by the Director of Commercial and Service of Angkasa Pura I Dendi T. Danianto and the Director of Commercial Division of Jeju Air Kyungpyo Ko, with a validity period of one year.
Angkasa Pura I President Director Faik Fahmi said the cooperation is very strategic, which includes exchanging data and information related to tourism, joint marketing, mutually supporting activities with regulators and relevant stakeholders, as well as cooperation on matters that can support the realization of flight operations.
“The opening of flight routes from South Korea to Indonesia can be an effort to develop tourism and the creative economy in both countries to increase,” said Faik Fahmi in South Korea, Tuesday (1/31/2023).
“Through this collaboration, we hope to open up even wider opportunities for flight routes from South Korea and other countries to airports managed by Angkasa Pura I.”
Director of Commercial and Service of Angkasa Pura I Dendi T. Danianto said the strong collaboration between Angkasa Pura I and Jeju Air is believed to increase air transportation activities for passengers and cargo as well as develop tourism connectivity between Indonesia and South Korea, where the potential destination is Bali through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Batam via Hang Nadim Airport.
“We hope it accelerates the recovery of Indonesia’s tourism which has been affected by the pandemic for two years when conditions of international travel restrictions were due to Covid-19,” said Dendi.
