MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – Air New Zealand resumes the Auckland – Denpasar – Auckland routes on Wednesday (3/29/2023).
The Air New Zealand inaugural flight landed at Bali Airport at 15.35 local time, and carried 255 passengers from Auckland to Denpasar, before returning back to Auckland at 17.50 local time with 150 passengers.
“The return of Air New Zealand is a breath of fresh air for the aviation and tourism sectors in Bali, especially after the Auckland – Denpasar route was stopped for three years due to the pandemic,” said Handy Heryudhitiawan, the General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali.
“In 2019, we noted that there were 131,391 foreigners from New Zealand who visited Bali. We hope that the return of Air New Zealand will further improve connectivity between New Zealand and Bali so that this record can be achieved again,” Handy continued.
Handy explained that Bali Airport currently serves 27 international routes served by 32 airlines.
“We expect that number will continue to grow. Currently, there are several proposals for international routes that are in the discussion stage, mainly to Mainland China,” he added.
