KUTA, Bali (BPN) – Discovery Fashion Week (DFW) to hold a fashion week themed “Fashion Voyage”, which will introduce a collection of resort wear that is locally produced, made with sustainable materials, and alternative materials.
“Discovery Fashion Week will introduce Bali as the center of the resort wear fashion industry in Indonesia,” said Dino Agosto, Head of Brand & Marcomm PT Bali Utama Cakrawala, Friday (6/9/2023).
The event will highlight the cultural richness and natural beauty of Bali as it inspires Indonesia’s resort wear designers.
Kanya Paramitha, Marcomm of Discovery Mall Bali, explained that DFW consists of two activities, namely the pre-show and the main show.
The pre-show will be held on June 9-10, 2023, consisting of the Discovery Model Search and the Bali Emerging Designer competition.
Kanya said that Discovery Model Search will be the scene for talented models to show their potential and get the chance to be the first Discovery Icon.
Meanwhile, Bali Emerging Designers will be an event for young Indonesian designers to highlight their innovative works with the theme of sustainable and alternative materials.
“The Discovery Fashion Week main show will take place on July 26-29 2023 which will be attended by collections from retail, local and new designers,” she said.
DFW will also be enlivened by special collections from well-known Indonesian designers, namely Renzi Blue together with By the Sea, Cap Bali, Pithecantropus, Uluwatu, and many more.
“DFW will be part of efforts to promote Bali as a destination for unique and sustainable resort wear. And in the end, will bring Indonesia’s name to the global fashion industry as a vital commodity that continues to grow from time to time,” Dino concluded.
