DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali recorded the highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases on Saturday, June 27, with 106 new confirmed cases. One of the regions that contribute to the number is Denpasar with 40 new cases.

According to the Spokesperson of Denpasar COVID-19 Task Force, I Dewa Gede Rai, the 40 new cases came from 23 asymptomatic virus carriers (OTG), 2 people under monitoring (ODP), and 15 people with travel history in Bali. Besides the city also recorded four new recoveries.

Dewa Rai explained the task force also found a new cluster in one house. Thus he urges the community to follow the health protocols.

“In addition to people with travel history, the virus spreading within the family also should be aware of. The contact tracing found most of the OTGs are from the (COVID-19) patient’s family,” Dewa Rai said in the press release on Saturday.

Dewa Rai said that his side is paying attention to those two clusters since the mobility of people in Denpasar is quite high.
